PRIVATE PILOT · DRAFT FOR REVIEW
Driver Participation Terms
Version driver-pilot-2026-11-05-v5. Draft terms for private testing; legal review is required before commercial use.
1. Private test
This is a private test pilot. Stripe sandbox payments and restaurant payments are test-only; no real money moves. These draft terms need legal review before commercial use.
2. Who can use a Meals for Motion
For a kitchen serving multiple registered brands from the same pickup counter, an active delivery pickup for any listed brand at that kitchen satisfies this rule. A shared street address alone is not enough; separate pickup operations do not qualify. All brands on the kitchen listing share one meal per driver per Los Angeles calendar day. Drivers can search by brand name or address and see the brands listed at that kitchen; the kitchen still selects the driver meal, and listing a brand does not promise a particular dish or brand-specific meal. You must be actively collecting a delivery from the same restaurant. Show staff your live delivery-app order screen; hide unrelated customer information. Use a simulated eligibility check during private testing. One completed meal per restaurant per Los Angeles calendar day.
3. Price and pickup
The advertised pilot total is $8.50: a $1.50 reservation fee after acceptance plus exactly $7 directly to the restaurant, including applicable restaurant taxes and required fees. The pickup code is shown after a Stripe test fee is confirmed. A request alone does not confirm a meal. Without restaurant acceptance and a valid pickup code, do not expect a Meals for Motion to collect. Give it only when receiving your meal. Stripe may offer an optional save-card checkbox for future purchases; choosing it does not authorize automatic future charges. Meals for Motion stores a Stripe customer reference, never your full card details.
4. Restaurant-selected food
Expect a restaurant-selected surprise meal made in the restaurant’s kitchen from ingredients it uses to prepare its current menu. Contents may differ from menu photos and previous meals. No menu choice, substitution or dietary customization is promised. Meals may contain food allergens or be prepared or cooked in shared areas or with shared equipment, utensils, or oil that also come into contact with allergens. If you have a food allergy or need to avoid an ingredient, skip the meal.
5. Pickup issues and cancellations
You can cancel before the restaurant accepts. After acceptance, the driver is committed to the meal. An emergency that prevents the delivery pickup or a customer-cancelled delivery may excuse the driver. Report the issue as soon as possible. Reports can be submitted later without a late-reporting strike. Any $1.50 reservation fee already paid is retained pending review and refunded for a verified exception or confirmed restaurant fault. A confirmed attempt to collect a driver meal without a current delivery pickup from the same restaurant forfeits the meal and any $1.50 reservation fee paid is not refunded; it also counts as a confirmed driver violation. An unexcused no-show or refusal to pay $7 for a meal offered as agreed can result in retention of the fee and a strike. A reported no-show can temporarily block new requests until the driver explains and provides reasonable verification. Two confirmed strikes can remove a driver or the specific restaurant location. Reports alone do not count as strikes. Aim to hand over both meals together. If the customer’s order is handed over first and the driver’s meal is still unavailable five minutes later, the driver can leave to finish the delivery and report the delay. Drivers can also report a meal below the published standard or an undisclosed payment restriction. Cash only is allowed when disclosed before the driver requests the meal.
| What happened | What happens after review |
|---|---|
| Emergency prevented pickup or the customer cancelled | If confirmed, refund any fee paid. No strike. |
| Driver missed an accepted pickup | Pause new requests pending an explanation and reasonable verification. An excused absence lifts the hold and gets a refund. A confirmed unexcused absence means a retained fee and a strike. |
| Driver refused a meal offered as agreed | If confirmed, retain the fee and issue a strike. The refusal does not count as a completed pickup. |
| Driver attempted meal pickup without a current delivery pickup from that restaurant | If confirmed, forfeit the driver meal, retain any $1.50 reservation fee paid, and issue a strike. |
| Restaurant did not provide the meal as agreed | If confirmed, refund the fee and issue a strike to that location. Report excessive waits, meals below the published standard, or payment restrictions first disclosed at pickup. |
6. Location and safe use
Please use this app while parked. Nearby search is optional and uses a location fix after permission. With location enabled, the open app also monitors for arrival while a meal request is pending; monitoring stops once the request is accepted or closed. An unanswered request closes on detected arrival or after two minutes, with no charge. Arrival detection is approximate and may pause while the app is closed or the phone is locked. Driver coordinates stay in this browser session and are not saved to your account or shared with restaurants. Distances are approximate straight-line miles, not driving miles. Restaurant addresses may be sent to a geocoding provider to approximate their location.
